HISTORY
Western Mass Pollinator Networks (WMPN) began accidentally in May of 2016 on a vacation to Asheville, NC with my neighbor Gale. At the Visitor Center we spotted a beautiful native flower garden labeled prominently with an educational sign:
“Pollinator Friendly Habitat”
Back home a flow of ideas for supporting native pollinators arose spontaneously and the organization was born. Volunteers all over western Massachusetts are creating a meaningful and vibrant movement yard by yard, community by community to build an interconnected web of healthy pollinator habitats.
On June 22, 2021 the Massachusetts Pollinator Network was launched, a project of the Northeast Organic Farming Association (NOFA/Mass), now headed by Rosemary Malfi, the new Network Coordinator. Click the logo above to travel to the Network's website.
